Job Description
Network Field Engineer - Cabling Maidenhead
Are you a hands-on cabling engineer who wants to further develop your career in networking? Do you want to work across a variety of sites, with a good balance of field work and flexibility? Are you keen to up-skill your Cisco knowledge with real-world experience and mentoring?
We are working with an impressive multi-million pound Managed Service Provider who needs assistance to deliver full site builds, support, and upgrades across multiple UK sites. You can get involved with everything from fresh cabling installs and AP setups to switching out firewalls and routers.
This is a brilliant step-up role for a Cat5/Cat6 engineer who wants to move deeper into networking, especially with exposure to Cisco, DrayTek, Sophos, and Forcepoint.
Responsibilities:
1. Install and test Cat5/Cat6 cabling
2. Set up and configure basic DrayTek routers and switches
3. Mount and configure Cisco and Unifi APs
4. Work across sites in the South East and Midlands (company van provided)
5. Support end-to-end site rollouts, POS devices, and network kit
6. Log and document work when not on site
What we're looking for:
* A solid background in network cabling installations
* Some basic experience with networking hardware (DrayTek, Cisco, Unifi, etc.)
* Willingness to learn
* Ideally want to step into more technical routing/switching work
* Based within 45 minutes of Maidenhead
* Full UK driving licence (van provided once up and running)
The offer:
* Company van
* Flexibility (e.g., earlier finish if you start early)
* Varied client sites across the South East & Midlands
* Supportive, skilled team with opportunities to upskill in advanced networking
This is a high-potential role with a growing MSP. We're looking for a cabling engineer who wants to upskill in advanced networking. This role involves hands-on work: cabling, site installs, and on-site tasks. If you're looking to grow and pursue a long-term path in advanced networking, this is the opportunity.
