WIKA Optical Sensing Ltd, previously known as Oxsensis, was acquired by WIKA in 2023 and brings expertise in optical sensing technology, particularly for pressure and temperature measurement.
Your Activities:
* Assembly and test of components and sub-assemblies IAW relevant processes.
* Operating and controlling test equipment including pressurised equipment.
* Fibre Cleaving, splicing and loss measurements.
* Pressure testing sub-assemblies, component inspection.
* Connector polishing, laser welding, ultrasonic cleaning. Calibrating and maintaining equipment, machining test/prototype parts.
* Communicate faults issues and deficiencies to relevant supervisory or managerial personnel.
* Work within the requirements of company H&S system.
* Work in accordance with the WOS Management System and Employee Handbook.
* Complete ERP system tasks to ensure material traceability is maintained.
* Able to communicate effectively across all levels in a cross-disciplinary environment.
* Coaching and development of colleagues.
* Assist the wider company – liaise with purchasing to resolve supply issues, assist engineering with QRs and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.
Your Profile:
Essential Experience:
* Computer literate to the extent of using common packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Able to communicate effectively across all levels in a cross-disciplinary environment.
* Dynamic and capable of quickly learning new skills and using his/her initiative to solve problems.
Desirable Experience:
* Level 3/ONC qualification preferably higher in relevant sphere.
* Relevant ‘hands on’ experience in a similar role.
* Experience of writing work instructions for new processes would be an advantage.
* High levels of manual dexterity and attention to detail are required for assembly of complex/fragile components. Previous optical fibre or wafer manufacturing and handling experience would be a distinct advantage, although on the job training will be given.
* Use of hand held metrology equipment.
