Job Description:
We are working with a Global provider of specialist insurance and reinsurance solutions based in London, they are keen to hire a Catastrophe Modelling Analyst. You will be recording and modelling exposure information in order to monitor allocated portfolios. Liaison with the class Underwriters for the allocated portfolios to lead the quoting/aggregation service. Support rollup processes ensuring consistency across multiple geographies.
The Exposure Management team supports underwriting teams by:
* Providing modelling analysis for business decisions and opportunities.
* Helping manage and optimise portfolios within underwriting risk limits.
* Ensuring detailed and accurate recording and modelling of exposure data.
* Producing data for portfolio rollups, internal and external reporting (including regulatory returns such as RDS, catastrophe models, and supplementary information).
* Conducting post-event exposure and loss analysis.
* Supplying data for outward reinsurance placement and capital model feeds.
* Delivering internal management information.
Responsibilities:
* Lead quoting/cleansing services for allocated classes to support rollups, reporting, and bespoke analytics.
* Maintain strong relationships with third-party modelling teams.
* Ensure timely and accurate completion of business-as-usual tasks.
* Peer review third-party outputs and suggest improvements.
* Support data quality improvements in accumulation systems.
* Deliver training and knowledge transfer to Underwriters and outsourcing teams.
* Contribute to exposure management projects.
* Respond to outsourcing queries and manage complex accounts.
* Provide validated model outputs for internal and external regulatory submissions.
* Learn and apply catastrophe models (RMS and AIR).
Skills and Experience:
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Working knowledge of catastrophe models/aggregation tools like RMS and/or Touchstone.
* Strong analytical and data processing skills.
* Organised and improvement-focused mindset.
* Familiarity with SQL, R, and VBA.
* Ability to work independently in a time-critical environment.
* Experience with offshore business partners is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
