ASC Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to thrive in their education? We're looking for a dedicated, patient and proactive ASC Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive school community in Longridge.
About the Role:
As an ASC Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide targeted support for pupils with autism, both in the classroom and during structured activities. This role is ideal for someone who is calm, empathetic, and committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASC.
Adapt resources and activities to suit individual learning needs.
Foster a supportive and structured learning environment.
Promote communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction skills.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
Maintain accurate records of progress and behaviour where required.
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people with ASC (in education, care, or support settings).
A calm, consistent and understanding approach to behaviour and communication.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to follow individual support plans and adapt to changing needs.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
