£16 - £21 per hour DOE
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Injection Mould Programmer/Setter/Operator who will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating injection moulding machines to produce high-quality plastic components in accordance with production schedules and specifications.
The Role
Set up and prepare injection moulding machines for production runs, including installing moulds and configuring machine settings
Program machines using appropriate control systems to optimize cycle times and product quality
Conduct start-up checks and first-off inspections to ensure conformance to quality standards
Monitor machines during production, identifying and resolving any issues related to moulding defects or machine malfunctions
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of moulds and machines
Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production data, and maintenance activities
Work closely with quality control and engineering teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in injection moulding machine programming, setting, and operating
*Candidates with no programming experience will be considered (as training can be given but must have setting/operating experience)
Strong understanding of mould design, plastics processing, and tooling setup
Familiarity with different types of injection moulding machines and control systems (e.g. Fanuc, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Basic understanding of quality control systems and procedures
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required
NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Injection Moulding Technology or Mechanical Engineering
IMT (Injection Moulding Technician) certification or similar industry-specific training
