Job overview Specialist Education Mental Health Team Leader to work in the Mental Health Support Team (Reflexions) Band 7 37.5hrs working across Black Country - base locality to be determined and agreed We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced accredited mental health practitioner to be part of the Children and Young People's Mental Health Support Teams across the Black Country. Advert This team provides the opportunity to further develop work within the field of young people’s mental health and wellbeing with a focus on development of whole school approaches to mental health and wellbeing and the development of the think family approaches within the schools environment. The mental health support teams provide CBT, guided self-help, parenting and whole school approaches but also offers support to young people through partnership working with external agencies. Working for our organisation The post holder will be knowledgeable and experienced in staff related matters such as sickness management, supervision, performance related issues and staff wellbeing as well as having a good understanding of mental health problems in children and young people as carrying out mental health assessments including risk assessments where required would also form part of the role. The postholder will also need to be the link worker between the team and the CAMHS services to ensure that children and young people receive the most appropriate care and interventions as well as being experienced in multi-agency working. S upport, advice and consultation to families/carers and other professionals involved in the life of the child/young person will also need to be provided. The post holder will work in partnership with the Locality Clinical Leads and will further develop the partnership working that is currently taking place between Education, Local Authority, CCG and the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and therefore excellent communication skills are essential. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Applicants should be experienced in children and young person’s mental health at a senior level with the required leadership and clinical skills to support the Mental Health Support Team. Experience of recent working with schools and delivering mental health promotional collaborative work in such an arena is beneficial in order to be able to fulfill the role. The salary range quoted is as per NHS Agenda for Change pay structures where applicable. This is based on the number of years’ working directly within the NHS at the advertised pay band. Experience gained with other NHS Trusts will apply, but candidates without prior experience working direct for the NHS would normally be appointed at the lowest point unless they can demonstrate the equivalent experience and then be eligible for incremental increases in future years. Medical and Very Senior Manager roles are exempt from agenda for change and subject to alternative remuneration structures. Successful applicants for clinical posts up to and including Band 4 are expected to hold the national Care Certificate qualification and will be supported to attain this once in post.
