ICT Technician (Band 5)
Location: Knockbracken
Pay: £15.88 per hour
Hours: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Temporary

We are recruiting an experienced ICT Technician to join a busy IT Department in Knockbracken. This role offers a varied workload across multiple sites and is ideal for a proactive IT professional with strong technical skills and a passion for troubleshooting, system improvement, and customer support.
About the Role
You will play a key part in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing a range of IT systems. Working closely with senior IT staff, you will deliver high-quality technical support, resolve complex issues, and contribute to ongoing improvements across the organisation’s ICT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support & Fault Resolution
1. Provide end-user support, including diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues
2. Manage incidents through the Help Desk system, liaising with third-party suppliers where required
3. Support the delivery of the organisation’s IT strategy in collaboration with senior colleagues
4. Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory records
Hardware, Software & Systems Support
5. Install, configure, test, and maintain IT equipment and applications
6. Support third-party software systems and contribute to the rollout of new services
7. Carry out site visits for maintenance, repairs, and IT assessments
8. Participate in security-related duties, including backup processes in line with policy
Web & Intranet
9. Assist with the development, maintenance, and improvement of intranet and website platforms
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
10. Contribute to team meetings and ICT projects
11. Identify and implement improvements to processes and procedures
12. Monitor and manage IT stock levels
13. Take part in the on-call rota as required
Essential Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following:
14. A degree (or equivalent qualification) in an ICT-related discipline plus at least 1 year’s relevant experience
OR
15. An HND (or equivalent) in ICT plus at least 2 years’ relevant experience
OR
16. At least 4 years’ experience supporting and installing network-based computer equipment
Additionally, you must have:
17. Experience supporting PCs, printers, and network infrastructure (including switches)
18. Working knowledge of Microsoft desktop applications and Windows Server environments
19. Experience using Help Desk/Service Management systems
20. Familiarity with intranet or web-based systems
21. A full driving licence or access to suitable transport (essential for site visits; reasonable adjustments apply)
22. Willingness to participate in an on-call rota
