Role Overview
Campari Group is looking for a National Account Manager – Prestige Retail & Wholesale to join the Commercial team based in London, United Kingdom.
This role requires a commercially minded, customer and consumer focused individual with the ability to quickly build customer relationships and partnerships, to deliver strong sales across their account base, building insight-led business plans to deliver key commercial and brand metrics. In addition, the candidate will be able to deliver excellent consumer focused activation and evaluation.
The successful candidate will report into the National Account Controller – Wholesale.
Key Responsibilities And Activities
* Support National Account Controller and Business Unit Manager, in implementation and development of channel strategy within defined customer account list
* Manage a range of Prestige customers (Retail & Wholesale) and secure new distribution and visibility on our core and Rare portfolio across retail stores and e-com platforms
* Commercial accountability for delivering against targets
* Proactive in identifying new opportunities, securing new business and promotional activity and developing mutually beneficial existing relationships
* Evaluation and review of promotional activity and use learnings to improve promotional effectiveness
* Arrange, implement and manage joint business plans that ensures delivery of key agreed targets aligned to the commercial and business unit strategy
* Utilize category and consumer insights to sell in the portfolio and promotional activity to build a calendar of brand activity
* Responsible for in-depth channel understanding across the Prestige channel
* Maintain a strong awareness and understanding of the spirits and licensed trade market to ensure business plans and practices adequately reflect market and customer changes / demands
* Ability to work cross functionally within the Rare team and wider Campari UK team, including Customer Marketing, Finance and Brand teams
* Analyse consumer, customer insight and sales data to include in comprehensive customer proposals
* Ability to influence key customer stakeholders to secure distribution, new and improved feature and new business
* Deliver accurate financial and volume forecasts
* Support National Account Controller and Business Unit Manager with additional Prestige channel related activities / projects

Experience And Skills
Experience:
Essential:
* Minimum of degree level or equivalent
* Solid track record of successful account management and negotiation
* Experience of successful working and activation with Prestige Retail & Wholesale customers and an in-depth channel and customer understanding including a strong understanding of how to develop business on customer’s e-com platforms
Desirable:
* Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the UK drinks industry / FMCG
* Evidence of clear category understanding and successful implementation of initiatives
* Good understanding of the Prestige and luxury universe and consumer behaviour
Skills:
* Good knowledge of the UK On and Off Trade spirits market
* Good understanding of the Route to Market supply model for Spirits
* The ability to tailor plans and approach to target the diverse customer base
* A strong consumer / shopper understanding
* Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
* Strong analytical skills and ability to derive insight from data
* Robust commercial understanding, good numerical and analytical skills
* Strong negotiation skills
* Ability to interact and deliver change through different levels
* Strong team player also being able to work independently
* Ability to influence peers/stakeholders and senior management both internally and externally
* Proficient in using MS Office applications – Excel specifically
