Our client, a well established, reputable company based in Bedford, is looking to recruit a Head of Sales to join their team. This role involves leading a team of field sales and internal telemarketers, delivering ambitious sales growth plans, and directly contributing to new business through field-based sales.
This position is a split between office work in Bedford and field work on client sites.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the team of Field Sales and Telemarketers to deliver sales and margin targets in line with the business strategy
* Ensure that the pipeline is managed effectively, with sufficient opportunities to meet new business expectations
* Train, coach, mentor, and performance-manage the team
* Direct responsibility for sales generation with an individual sales target
* Manage the BDM and telemarketing team on a day-to-day basis
* Identify and recruit new talent into the sales team
* Increase sales across all potential sales streams
* Ensure KPI for proposal presentations is achieved
* Develop a public sector tender response procedure to increase public sector business
* Provide input to the Managing Director for ongoing business planning for profitable growth
* Work closely with Operations to manage and close sales with current clients and identify opportunities to sell additional services
* Ensure all quotes are costed and approved per company procedures; submissions are comprehensive, professional, and accurate
* Develop and maintain the CRM database
Requirements
* Experience leading a field sales and internal team to deliver growth in a mature market
* Experience in a service-led sales environment
* Ability to prioritise workload, manage team issues, and delegate effectively
* Ability to build a positive team dynamic, try new ideas, and challenge the status quo
* Proven B2B sales experience with ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders
* Excellent knowledge of sales management processes, strategies, and tactics
* Strong business awareness and ability to compile a sound business case
* Excellent communication, flexibility, ability to meet deadlines, and determination to close a job
Benefits
* Salary £55,000–£65,000 depending on experience plus approx. £30k OTE
