Overview
A successful and growing law firm is seeking a motivated Litigation Assistant or NQ Solicitor to support a busy Commercial and Civil Litigation workload. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer or experienced Paralegal who is confident, proactive, and able to hit the ground running in contentious work.
The role sits directly alongside the Owner of the business, who also manages commercial contracts work. While you may support this area occasionally, the role is primarily litigation focused.
Key Responsibilities
• Assisting with a broad range of Commercial Litigation and Civil Litigation matters.
• Managing elements of files independently where appropriate.
• Drafting court documents, correspondence, and supporting case preparation.
• Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries.
• Liaising with clients, counsel, and third parties.
• Providing general support to the business owner, including assisting with commercial contract matters as needed.
• Ensuring deadlines are met and files are kept in good order.
Role Focus
This position includes work in:
• Commercial disputes
• Civil disputes
• Case preparation and drafting
• Supporting the commercial contracts workflow when necessary
Candidate Requirements
• NQ Solicitor
• Confident and capable of handling litigation tasks independently.
• Strong drafting and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise, work under pressure, and manage deadlines.
• Proactive, willing to learn, and able to support a senior fee earner effectively.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, hands on environment.
