OMD Account Manager – Service
Service Manager: Marine Diesel Crankcase Oil Mist Detection Systems
Full‑time | Based in Milton Keynes, UK (or Home‑based)
Reports to: OMD Sales Manager
Are you passionate about marine safety and electronic systems? Do you enjoy supporting customers and solving technical challenges? We are looking for an OMD Account Manager – Service to join our team in the UK.
Purpose of the Role:
The OMD Account Manager – Service will have full knowledge of the OMD product range (Marine Diesel Crankcase Oil Mist Detection Systems), managing all aspects of design, functionality, and troubleshooting. You will ensure our systems are operating at the highest standards, manage warranty returns, support product recalls and remediation programmes, and assist with commercial and approval issues. You will also engage with IACS work groups, manage cyber‑security compliance, support training programmes, and work closely with Engine Designers and our Authorised Network of Service Providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Full responsibility for Graviner OMD in‑warranty processes and reporting
Analyse technical issues and implement remedial actions
Liaise with factory and production teams to resolve issues
Manage third‑party and customer approvals
Ensure OMD systems are fully cybersecurity compliant
Oversee Service Engineer Training and OMD Learning Development Programme
Support growth initiatives and yearly sales plans
Maintain OMD ship folders and ensure international trade compliance
While the role description outlines responsibilities in detail, the following milestones define clear expectations for the first 6–12 months in the role.
Within the first 3 months:
Complete the handover of the role from Paul Leighton by mid‑May 2026
Complete the Graviner OMD Service Engineer Training (MK6 & MK7) within the first quarter (subject to Paul Dunn’s availability)
Complete Account Profiles for assigned accounts
Provide a weekly activity report, including forecasting
Review and update Engine Designer account information
Create a current Graviner OMD SWOT analysis
Within the first 6 months:
Take responsibility for the new MK7 RDU development, including cyber‑security compliance
Gain a full understanding of the IACS approval process and take ownership of ensuring all certificates are up to date and published on the Graviner website
Understand the Graviner OMD RMA process and take responsibility for in‑warranty activities
Review all Graviner OMD marketing collateral and ensure it is current
Take ownership of the OMD subscription training initiative
Work with the OMD team to improve the Vessel Service and Maintenance initiative
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
Electronics technical systems knowledge
Strong technical presentation and communication skills
Commercial business acumen
Willingness to travel
Experience with Oil Mist Detection Systems or Fire Panels
Knowledge of the marine industry and onboard service work
Familiarity with IACS and Class Society approvals
Understanding of vessel cyber‑security requirements and marine diesel engine eco‑structure
Behaviours:

Able to work on own initiative with integrity
Comply with all KGS Fire & Security ethics and compliance rules
Leadership & Team Structure
There are no direct reports initially
As the team evolves and the scope of the role expands, line management and mentoring responsibilities are expected to be introduced
Travel & Relocation Expectations
The role involves limited travel, primarily within the UK and Europe, including:
Training at R&D centres
Trade shows
KGS internal meetings
As the role develops, this may extend to occasional global travel for customer meetings and international trade shows. All business‑related travel expenses will be covered in line with company policy. No relocation is required.
Candidate Background:
Previous experience in technical product support (fire panels or electronic components) or international technical system sales is highly desirable.
Other Requirements:
Driving licence mandatory
Use of personal vehicle for business will be reimbursed
Subject to the candidate’s abilities and performance, the expected career path is for the individual to:
Progress from a service‑focused role into new‑build account responsibility, and
Ultimately develop into a leadership position with responsibility for running the OMD team.
