Our client is an established and ambitious software company investing in a brand-new sales function based out of their Belfast office. With a strong product and growing market demand, they are now building the go-to-market engine to match — and this hire is the cornerstone of that plan.

The Role

As Sales Manager, you will build the company's inside sales function in Belfast from a blank sheet of paper. You'll hire, onboard, and develop an initial team of 10 — a mix of graduates, SDRs, and Account Executives — and put in place the outbound processes, cadences, and coaching culture needed to make them successful.

This is a hands‑on leadership role. In the early months you'll be deep in hiring, ramping, and pipeline building; as the function proves itself, you'll have the mandate and headcount to scale well beyond the initial team. It suits a leader who has built inside sales teams at an early stage before, loves developing young talent, and knows what good outbound looks like in the SMB and mid‑market space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, hire, and lead a new inside sales team of 10, spanning graduates, SDRs, and Account Executives
  • Design and implement the outbound sales playbook — processes, cadences, messaging, and tooling
  • Own recruitment end‑to‑end, hiring at pace while maintaining a high talent bar
  • Coach and develop graduate and early‑career salespeople into consistent, high‑performing sellers
  • Drive outbound pipeline generation and revenue performance across SMB and mid‑market segments
  • Set targets, KPIs, and performance frameworks, and report on results to senior leadership
  • Establish a winning, high‑energy sales culture in the Belfast office
  • Lay the foundations to scale the function beyond the initial team following early success

What You'll Bring

  • A strong background in inside sales, with proven experience growing teams
  • Experience managing outbound sales teams selling into SMB and mid‑market customers
  • Experience building inside sales teams at an early stage
  • A proven track record of hiring at pace and volume, with a strong history of developing graduates and early‑career salespeople into consistent top performers
  • Hands‑on leadership style — comfortable coaching on calls, pipeline, and process
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to operate with autonomy in a build‑from‑scratch environment
  • Experience in fintech, commerce technology, or business banking — candidates from these backgrounds will be of particular interest
  • A successful step up from leading small teams to managing at scale
