Our client is a leading construction and infrastructure consultancy with an established reputation for delivering commercial excellence across some of the UK's most complex and high-profile programmes.Operating across infrastructure, energy, transportation, regeneration and major capital projects, they provide expert commercial and project controls services that help clients successfully deliver critical investments.With a strong track record supporting both public and private sector organisations, our client is involved in projects that improve connectivity, strengthen national infrastructure and contribute to the UK's long-term sustainability and net-zero ambitions.The OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team supporting a major electricity transmission investment programme across the UK.This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of nationally significant infrastructure projects that will modernise and expand the UK's electricity network. The programme includes a range of critical works designed to increase network capacity, support renewable energy generation and enhance energy security for future generations.Projects are likely to include:New high-voltage transmission line developmentsSubstation construction, upgrades and extensionsNetwork reinforcement and capacity enhancement schemesAssociated civil engineering, cabling and infrastructure worksWorking within a collaborative programme environment, you will support the commercial management of projects delivered under NEC contracts, partnering with contractors, consultants, engineers and programme delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities are likely to include, but are not limited to:Supporting commercial and cost management activities across major infrastructure projectsAssisting with the administration of NEC contracts, including change management, compensation events and early warning proceduresPreparing cost plans, valuations, financial reports and project forecastsMonitoring project costs, expenditure and cash flow performanceSupporting risk management, cost assurance and value engineering activitiesWorking closely with project stakeholders to ensure robust commercial governance and reportingAssisting with procurement processes, tender evaluations and contract reviewsContributing to the development of best practice commercial processesSupporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriateExperience & SkillsThe successful candidate is likely to demonstrate:Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, utilities, energy, transportation or major civil engineering projectsWorking knowledge of NEC contract forms and commercial management principlesStrong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skillsExcellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detailThe ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary project teamsUnderstanding of cost forecasting, project controls, risk management and commercial reportingDegree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related disciplineMRICS accreditation, or a desire to work towards chartership, would be advantageousWhy Apply?Opportunity to work on nationally important energy infrastructure programmesExposure to complex, high-value capital projects within the utilities and infrastructure sectorHybrid working arrangements and flexibility around project locationsStructured career development and progression opportunitiesSupportive and collaborative consultancy environmentCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageApplyIf you are looking to further your career within a growing consultancy while working on projects that will help shape the future of the UK's energy network, we would be delighted to hear from you.Apply: ContactHayley Woodruff on 07897069216 or apply with your CV toBuilding Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
