Offer description

Pay: £ £12.75 per hour depending on experience and qualifications

Fulltime Hours 35 hours per week on a 10.30pm to 06.30am shift pattern 5 days a week including weekends (1 hour unpaid break)

Parttime Hours 21 hours per week on a 10.30pm to 06.30am shift pattern 3 days a week (1 hour unpaid break)

You may also be able to work some day time hours.

About Us:

CentrePeace Homes Ltd is an independent company operating in Newport Wales, Bristol, and South Gloucestershire. We specialise in providing residential care and supported accommodation to young people in care and care leavers.

We support children and young people who have complex needs which include Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), CSE, Gang Affiliation and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking children. We create a home environment that exceeds the needs of the children and young people, enabling them to express their characters, feel safe, and enrich their lives.

Job Description:

We are looking for full-time and part time waking night residential support workers to complete a shift pattern covering 5 x 8 hour shifts a week or 2 x 8 hour shifts a week 11pm to 7am across 7 days. You may work alone or with a sleep-in member of staff.

Job Purpose

You will have oversight of 3 accommodations supporting up to 14

16+ care leavers.

· You will monitor CCTV for all accommodations ensuring all curfews are respected and visitors recorded.

· You will ensure designated areas are "locked down" each night and re-opened for 7am the next morning.

· You will be the first point of contact for young people and professionals needing nighttime support.

· You will perform regular walks around the accommodations ensuring the properties are secured and safe.

· You will perform accommodation deep cleans; laundry; inventories; and housekeeping audits on each shift as directed by the Service Manager

· You will play a fundamental roll in notifying managerial staff of any missing episodes.

· Be the central point of communication for the police; social services, friends and family

· You will play a central role in supporting and recording any incidents.

· You will maintain an accurate service log; and young people's records reflecting your time on shift.

Whilst this may involve lone working, you will have access to support and supervision. To be successful, you must:-

· Be Aged 25 and over to fulfil the legal requirements of the role (Exempt under the Equality Act 2010, pursuant to schedule 9, Part 1)

· Have a full UK driving licence and be able to drive the company pool car.

· Be able to showcase proven experience of working as a Support Worker or Carer with children or young adults who have experienced missing; emotional and behavioural difficulties; drugs and alcohol and challenging behaviour

· Possess both experience and knowledge of Safeguarding young people.

. Have a first aid qualification

· Be comfortable and confident dealing with challenging behaviours and setting firm boundaries.

· Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English.

· Have good computer skills for record keeping

· Be able to provide three satisfactory references.

· Undertake an enhanced DBS check if you are not already on the update service

· Be registered with Social Care Wales

Specific

· Record a daily log of all activities using the App Log My Care, ClearCare, and any other platforms Centre Peace Homes may use.

· Be the first point of contact during nighttime incidents and follow company policies and procedures around reporting and recording missing episodes; accidents and incidents.

You will be required to accompany young people to various locations around the area and further afield, therefore, a full clean UK driving licence is essential.

· Arrange and accompany young people to appointments e.g., A & E police Station Interviews, as required.

· Support and guidance around staying safe around topics such as mental health, physical health, drug and alcohol use, and relationships.

· Support family and friends' contact to ensure safety and satisfaction for all.

· To check in with young people in specific circumstances.

· Routine cleaning and tidying of the home to maintain it to a high standard.

· Routine cleaning and general upkeep of the company vehicle.

· Complete mandatory online training courses to enhance knowledge of topics, and better equip staff for when situations may arise with young people.

· Be punctual, appropriately dressed and reliable

· Always maintain the young person's / staff confidentiality.

· Ensure information is only disclosed to those who have a right and need for this.

· To always function as a positive role model.

· Be polite, courteous, and supportive to all team members.

· Be able to work on your own initiative

· Attend daytime training on a regular basis to enhance performance

· To attend staff meetings.

· Be flexible with working arrangements and be able to cover leave as required.

· To behave in a manner that always reflects positively on the company.

· To collaborate closely with other members of the team for the ultimate benefit of the people living in the home.

· · Establish and maintain positive relationships with young people.

· Respect and meet the physical, cultural, emotional, communication; religious, educational, and psychological needs of young people and colleagues.

· Safeguard children and young people from harm and promote their welfare, discussing any potential risks / concerns with your Team Leader / Manager.

· Protect the confidentially of the young people.

· Encourage young people to have a voice and input into the service they receive and to follow up on this accordingly.

· Always behave in a professional manner.

· Keep abreast of developments, within the profession including knowledge of legislation, policy, and practice procedures relating to Care Leavers.
