Youth Justice Sercice Practitioner We are seeking a dedicated Youth Justice Service Practitioner to support young people within the justice system. This role involves working closely with children and adolescents to promote positive behavioural change, provide mentorship, and facilitate their reintegration into the community. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering tailored programmes that address individual needs, ensuring safety, and fostering development. This is a paid position suitable for individuals passionate about youth work and committed to making a meaningful difference. Responsibilities Develop and implement personalised intervention plans for young people in custody or community settings. Provide mentoring and support to help young individuals develop life skills and positive behaviours. Deliver educational activities, including specialised programmes for children with additional needs or in special education. Foster constructive relationships with young people, acting as a positive role model and advocate. Collaborate with social workers, educators, and other professionals to coordinate care and support strategies. Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of interventions, behaviour, and development milestones. Organise group activities aimed at social integration, skill-building, and behavioural improvement. Ensure all activities comply with safeguarding policies and promote a safe environment for young people. Qualifications Experience working with children or young people in educational, youth work, or social care settings. Knowledge of youth justice procedures, safeguarding protocols, and behaviour management strategies. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of young people. Teaching or mentoring experience is highly desirable, especially within special education contexts. Compassionate approach with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Relevant qualifications in youth work, education, social care, or related fields are preferred but not essential.
