Transport and Administration Controller (2 Positions Available) Location: Derby and Foston, Derbyshire Salary: £30,000 per annum Job Type: Full-Time Overview We are currently recruiting for two Transport and Administration Controller positions to support a busy transport operation across dual sites in Derby and Foston. These are varied roles involving transport coordination, driver support, administration, customer communication, compliance monitoring, and workforce coordination. Successful candidates will be required to work across both locations during each shift, therefore a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. Available Positions Position 1 AM Shift 05:00 08:00: Derby 08:00 13:30: Foston Shift Hours: 05:00 13:30 Position 2 PM Shift 11:30 17:00: Foston 17:00 20:00: Derby Shift Hours: 11:30 20:00 Key Responsibilities Support the planning and coordination of transport schedules, deliveries, and collections. Act as a key point of contact for drivers, customers, agency partners, and internal departments. Maintain accurate transport records, trackers, spreadsheets, and system updates. Prepare driver paperwork, delivery documentation, PODs, and dispatch packs. Support agency bookings, attendance tracking, onboarding, assessments, and inductions. Monitor driver and vehicle availability across the operation. Track POD returns and support customer KPI requirements. Assist with purchase orders, invoices, timesheets, and general transport administration. Support compliance activities, audits, and safe working practices. Escalate operational issues, delays, or missing information promptly to management. Requirements Previous experience within transport, logistics, warehousing, distribution, fleet operations, or a similar environment. A minimum of 2 years' administration experience, ideally within a transport or logistics environment. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Confident communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with drivers, customers, agencies, and colleagues. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and spreadsheets. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider operational team. Flexibility to support both sites as required. Professional, reliable, and proactive approach. Qualifications GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
