The Job
The Major Projects Buyer is primarily responsible for obtaining best in class competitive pricing for Key Project equipment requirements, to maximise the ability to win projects. A key part of the role also involves building and maintaining relationships with distributors and manufacturers to leverage maximum commercial advantage. This will involve ensuring pricing is bid or deal registered to achieve best pricing. This position requires strong negotiation skills, tenacity, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Main Duties:
* Obtain competitive pricing for key projects within the required timelines
* Ensure pricing is supported by bid or deal registration to maximum effect through continuous collaboration with distribution and manufacturing partners
* Use industry and peer knowledge to ensure pricing is as competitive as possible
* Negotiate with key partners to ensure this is achieved to maximum effect
* Ensure BOM pricing is accurately updated in a timely manner
* Ensure internal teams are communicated with in a clear and timely manner
* Build and develop partner relationships for maximum collaboration
* Other duties assigned as needed
