About the role
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Adviser to join our Ely Foodbank Project, supporting people experiencing financial hardship and complex life challenges.
Working directly with foodbanks and clients, you’ll provide advice, casework and budgeting support to help address the underlying causes of poverty, reduce reliance on foodbanks, and build long-term resilience.
Key responsibilities
* Provide high-quality advice and casework on:
o Welfare benefits
o Housing
o Debt and income maximisation
o Budgeting support
* Deliver support face‑to‑face, by phone and digitally
* Attend foodbank distribution sessions as required
* Maintain accurate case records and meet quality standards
* Support foodbank volunteers to identify issues and make effective referrals
* Build strong relationships with foodbanks, CARC colleagues and partner agencies
* Collect monitoring data and contribute to reports for funders

* An experienced adviser or have experience with supporting people with complex needs
* Strong problem‑solving skills
* Organised, empathetic and solution‑focused
* Comfortable working across multiple sites and collaboratively with partners
