Facility Engineer
Contract: 12 months
Based: Broadoak, Portsmouth
Hourly Rate: £41.87 PAYE or £56.44 Umbrella inside ir35
Hours: 37 hours Monday – Friday
The Lightning Systems Integration Facility (LSIF), based within the Maritime Integration & Support Centre (MISC), supports testing and integration of the F-35 Lightning II aircraft into UK military infrastructure.
BAE Systems are seeking a Facility Engineer to support the implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the LSIF within this environment.
This role will include commissioning networks between key facility areas, maintaining government-furnished IT equipment (including large servers), and supporting testing events and facility reconfiguration.
Skills:
IT networking (Cisco and other vendors such as F5, McAfee)
LAN/WAN infrastructure, network device configuration and troubleshooting
IT monitoring tools (e.g., WhatsUpGold, SCCM, SCOM, SNMP, SysLog)
Cisco VOIP administration
IT system interconnection across multiple security classifications
The Job
Support the day-to-day running of the LSIF
Assist with the build, production and maintenance of LSIF hardware
Assist with LSIF security matters (including IVCO duties)
Support planning, execution and reporting of testing events
Contribute to long-term facility planning
Assist with procurement and management of LSIF hardware/software
Maintain configuration control of assets, documents, change requests, passwords, etc.
Become a resident expert in the administration of the government-provided system
