Job Summary:
As a key member of our small team, you will play a crucial role at GTC in method and technology development, as well as in machining demonstrators. Our team supports other organizations within GKN by addressing machining-related challenges, participating in research projects, and collaborating with companies and universities. Your primary focus will be on CAM engineering, with tasks tailored to your skills. You will work with cutting-edge hardware and software, contributing to the development of the latest PLM and CAD/CAM environments and challenging existing standards.
Job Responsibilities:
* Be an active team player.
* Collaborate with other Senior Research Engineers in national and EU-financed projects.
* Understand customer requirements and interpret drawings and specifications related to manufacturing.
* Review CAD models and technical drawings with design and engineering teams, providing feedback on manufacturability and process improvements.
* Develop and implement CAM programs for CNC machines.
* Create innovative machining setups and flexible low-volume machining strategies.
* Optimize tool paths, machining strategies, and tooling solutions to maximize efficiency.
* Conduct simulations and analyses to validate CAM programs, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
* Train and mentor CAM engineers, offering technical guidance and support.
* Stay updated on advancements in CAM software and manufacturing technologies.
Job Qualifications:
* Experience in manufacturing and production processes.
* Preferably experience with NC programming, especially with NX.
* Hands-on experience with manufacturing and machinery.
* Openness to new ideas and continuous improvement.
* Strong social skills, flexibility, and an independent work style due to the collaborative nature of the role.
* Proficiency in Swedish and English.
* A positive mindset.
* Ability to train others and share knowledge.
