Were looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Erith, working Monday to Friday on a 40-hour contract, and playing a key role in keeping our hire equipment safe, reliable, and ready for customers.
About the Role Based at our Erith depot, youll be responsible for electrical fault-finding, repairs, testing, and assembly across a wide range of industrial hire products, including power tools and lifting equipment. Your work will help ensure equipment is repaired efficiently, prioritised correctly, and returned to hire in a timely manner.
Your day-to-day will include:
Diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out repairs on hire equipment.
Working on equipment operating at 110v and above, ensuring all work meets safety and compliance standards.
Assembling, testing, and preparing equipment ready for rehire.
Prioritising repairs effectively to minimise downtime and support depot schedules.
Accurately completing service records and updating systems using Microsoft Office and internal platforms.
Working closely with colleagues to support a safe, efficient, and well-organised workshop.
Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping.
Supporting Speedys ESG Strategy Decade to Deliver, through safe and responsible working practices.
What Were Looking For To help you succeed in this role, youll bring:
Previous experience working on 110v phase equipment and above, ideally within the hire industry or a similar engineering environment.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills .
The ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
