9 January 2023 Location: Sheffield Salary: Grade 6, £28,762 - £33,314 per annum. Potential to progress to £36,386 per annum. Employment Type: Full-Time Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University? We have an exciting opportunity in the University Library for someone passionate about archives. The role involves supporting all aspects of the care, management, and preservation of our archive collections, and facilitating their use by the public and researchers. You will play a key role in developing our archives in line with best practices and recognized standards. This role supports the Library's mission to enable our University to access and utilize the information universe for knowledge creation, application, and communication, especially through Special Collections, Heritage, and Archives. Our aims include increasing the cultural impact and engagement of our collections and enhancing their digital and physical accessibility. We seek candidates with a recognized professional qualification in archives and records management, with detailed knowledge and experience of archive metadata creation according to international standards, and an understanding of archival arrangement and description principles. The ability to advocate for and develop the digital preservation offer for SCHA is also essential.
