Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive, high‑quality Medical Illustration Service to Barnsley Hospital, including clinical photography, general photography, image management, video production for patient records, research, education, publication, and public relations.
* Deliver diagnostic digital ophthalmic retinal photography service, including fundus oculi and fluorescein angiography at the Alhambra Centre in Barnsley Town Centre.
* Perform medical photography procedures without supervision in studio, clinics, wards, theatres, and the Alhambra Centre, according to patient clinical urgency.
* Communicate effectively, liaising with stakeholders internally and externally to maintain high standards and support development of the Medical Photography service.
* Assist and support the Medical Photography team as a Senior Medical Photographer.
* Maintain efficient running of the service as an experienced, self‑motivated, highly organised team player able to work independently and under stressful conditions.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified and experienced Senior Medical Photographer with NHS experience.
* Experience in all aspects of Ophthalmology photography (desirable).
* Experience using CRIS and PACS (advantageous).
* Flexible approach, able to work under own initiative.
Additional Information
* Individuals requiring sponsorship under the skilled worker or health & care visa route should refer to the eligibility link; band 2 and 3 entry roles are not eligible for sponsorship.
* Cost of the DBS (criminal records check) for Band 6 and above roles will be met by the successful candidate via salary deduction.
