Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private residences. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care, particularly with seniors and those suffering from conditions such as Alzheimer's and dementia. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalised support and companionship.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
* Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure the well-being of clients.
* Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate professionals.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
* Ensure a safe and clean living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
Skills
* Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or hospice care is highly desirable.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
* Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and empathy.
* Competence in meal preparation tailored to dietary needs of clients.
* A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential.
* Care Certificate or any other relevent health and social care qualifications/certificates
