In your role as a Kitchen Assistant at HC-One, you'll value one thing above all: kindness. It influences every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Everyone here understands that our Residents are people with their own stories, just like you. Joining HC-One gives you a wonderful opportunity to give back to these individuals.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll help prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that residents will love. You'll uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies, managing fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters, or cleaning spills, you'll always prioritize Resident wellbeing.
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience. Ideally, you will have an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or be willing to study for one. Excellent record keeping and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, you should be considerate and kind.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training and undertake additional relevant training. You should also be able to seek advice and report concerns appropriately, escalating issues if necessary.
We provide full training, offering a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you'll enjoy a wide range of benefits to support your physical and psychological wellbeing, including:
* Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications.
* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG check.
* Free uniform.
* A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more.
* Company pension scheme.
* 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays.
* Group life assurance cover.
* Wagestream - flexible access to earned wages.
* Learning and development opportunities, including qualifications.
* GP online service for you and your children under 16.
* Opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues.
* Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street stores.
* Free Employee Assistance Programme for physical, mental, and financial support.
* Recognition schemes such as 'Kindness in Care' and Long Service Awards.
* Refer a friend scheme offering up to £1000 per successful referral.
We are committed to inclusivity and encourage applicants from all backgrounds. We aim for a quick onboarding process from offer to start date, ensuring you can begin your journey with us promptly.
