We are seeking to employ a full time Deputy SENCo-Intervention & Inclusion from September 2026.
Nailsea School aims to achieve excellence for all students, through outstanding teaching and learning. Our vision is to provide an inclusive environment for all learners, and the school is looking for someone with a strong commitment to improving the life chances of SEND and disaffected students.
Our SEN provision includes an ASD Resource Base, which supports learners from Year 7 to Year 11, and we have a large dedicated and established team which includes SEN teachers, HLTA’s, Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants. In September 2026 our Resource Base is expanding, and the current Deputy SENCo will have sole responsibility for overseeing this provision. We are therefore seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy SENCo-Intervention & Inclusion to support the SENCo in the management and strategic development of SEN across mainstream classes.
Whilst this role is a demanding one which requires the individual to be self-driven and resilient in their delivery, it is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and inclusive school in North Somerset.
The post would have a 0.4 FTE teaching responsibility in mainstream classes.
It would be advantageous to already hold the SENCo qualification, but if not already held, this would be a requirement of the post to work towards gaining this.
We can offer you:
1. The full support of a dedicated committed team of staff.
2. The benefit of working in an innovative and forward-thinking Trust.
3. The opportunity to work with our wonderful young learners and supportive parents.
4. A commitment to offering excellent CPD opportunities.
5. Staff benefits, including discounted gym membership and a cycle to work scheme.
6. Generous employer contribution in excess of 20%, subject to pension eligibility criteria.
7. A staff assistance programme with specialist provider, who provide a 24/7 free phone helpline, or face-to-face counselling for every employee in the Wessex family.
At the Wessex Learning Trust collaboration is key, we work together to share knowledge, grow and develop through professional learning communities.
Please click ‘Apply Now’ and once fully completed, please submit your application.
The closing date for applications is 9.00am on Monday 2th March 2026.
Interviews Week Commencing: 9th March 2026
