Senior Infrastructure Engineer
(Contract) – Outside IR35
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Hybrid or Remote
Overview
We are supporting Nando's on a key infrastructure transformation programme focused on isolating legacy data centre environments and transitioning to modern, cloud-managed platforms.
This role will be instrumental in identifying and removing dependencies on on-premise services, reconfiguring endpoints, and ensuring a smooth transition to modern identity and device management solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Analyse and remove application dependencies on legacy on-prem services (e.g. Active Directory, file shares, legacy authentication, VPN reliance)
2. Support the isolation of Data Centre and Core Server environments
3. Reconfigure endpoints (laptops, desktops, servers, and mobile devices) via MDM platforms such as Intune
4. Remove or remediate legacy configurations including GPOs, login scripts, certificates, VPN profiles, and authentication methods
5. Execute configuration changes using PowerShell, MDM, and automation tooling
6. Uninstall legacy applications and validate compatibility with target environments
7. Identify and resolve undocumented or hidden dependencies ahead of service decommissioning
8. Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to validate decommissioning readiness
9. Ensure endpoints and services are successfully transitioned to cloud-managed environments and modern identity providers
Core Skills (Priority Order)
10. Experience with Okta (exposure to OAG desirable)
11. Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Intune and Azure
12. Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation experience
13. Good understanding of networking fundamentals
14. Working knowledge of SQL
Experience Required
15. Proven experience delivering infrastructure transformation or migration programmes
16. Strong background in modern endpoint management and cloud identity integration
17. Experience removing legacy enterprise dependencies and supporting decommissioning activities
18. Ability to work independently within a contract environment
