Apprentice Administrator

Location: Grangemouth, Scotland

Will you complete a qualification during your apprenticeship?

When you join us as an apprentice, you will:

1. Complete an apprenticeship qualification relevant to the role, to suit your current education level. At the end of the programme, you will gain a nationally recognised qualification in this field as well as learning the practical skills and hands-on experience in a supportive environment.
2. Join us on our Trainee Development Programme, where you will be given the training and tools to develop your skills through a series of modules over an -month period followed by a graduation event.

We offer apprenticeships from a level to a degree level apprenticeship fully funded by Galliford Try, tailored to your current education level and course entry requirements.

This role is available for a Summer start, with the possibility of an earlier start date to suit yourself and the business.

What could your day look like?

The Apprentice Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office. This position requires a pro-active individual who is ready to assist with various administrative tasks, maintain an orderly environment, and provide support to both staff and visitors. As an Apprentice Administrator, you will be responsible for several key duties that contribute to the efficient functioning of our business operations by supporting.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Provide reception support, including answering phones, taking messages, and assisting staff and visitors.
• Sign in visitors and ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail and couriers efficiently.
• Assist with various administrative tasks to support office operations, such as typing, photocopying, scanning, printing of documents.
• Arrange travel and accommodations as needed for staff and management.
• Schedule & book meetings and trainings.
• Arrange tea/coffee and lunches as required for meetings/events.
• Maintain and update the company's databases, including active project lists, CI Live Sites & Building Understanding records.
• Provide coverage for staff during holidays to ensure uninterrupted office operations.
• Ensure the office environment is clean and organized.
• Check for photocopiers for paper levels, toner, and any error messages displayed on the machine.
• Ensure welfare & office refreshment are topped-up and available to staff.
• Conduct weekly Legionella checks and fire alarm tests.
• Regularly check and maintenance of First Aid Box and Emergency Lights.

As part of the apprenticeship programme you will be expected to work in and around the location advertised, with the possibility for expanding travel to other projects and locations in the future. This may include staying away from home.

What are we looking for?

We invite applications from those who are passionate about the industry, who are leaving education and want to further their studies, or those who haven’t yet found a route into construction.

You will be willing to learn and get involved in key projects, have the passion, adaptability and a flexible approach to work, along with good communication skills. We are here to support your learning and professional growth; we do not expect you to have any prior experience for this role.

To qualify for the apprenticeship study requirements, you must have eligibility to live and work in the UK without restriction and achieve the minimum entry requirements to enrol onto an apprenticeship course related to the role you are applying for.
