About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Maths and Science teacher to join our secondary team. You will deliver Maths and Science to groups of no more than 8 students in our KS4 St George’s Centre in Cheltenham
You will be a key member of the secondary team and will have plenty of opportunities to work with teachers and other staff to deliver a KS4 curriculum that supports students’ social and emotional development as much as their academic progress. Students at St George’s have the opportunity to sit GCSE Maths, as well as Functional Skills qualifications and the Gateway Science and Technology Award.
About our school:
The Altus School is a local authority maintained alternative provision school, working with students from Year 1 through to Y11 who predominantly join us after a permanent exclusion from a mainstream setting. We are a supportive and nurturing school and place relationships at heart of all that we do to help our students flourish both in school and in the wider community. You can hear directly from our staff about what it is like to work at the school by looking at our website. You will be joining a challenging but ultimately hugely rewarding environment. Every day is different, you will develop strong working relationships both with students and your colleagues. Together, we make a real difference for our young people and families.
We are a growing school with 7 centres, plus our new primary satellite classroom in a mainstream school, across Gloucestershire. There are a wide range of opportunities to work collaboratively with colleagues across the school to plan and share best practice. In addition, you will benefit from a generous employee assistance scheme which includes health care, online sports and fitness and wellbeing support.
We encourage visitors to the school to come and see us in action. Please visit our website for more information.
We are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and young people. All applicants will be subject to social media checks and successful applicants to a fully enhanced DBS.
Deadline for applications: 9am Monday 6 October with interviews to be confirmed for later in the week.
