JCA – Housekeeping Manager (6-month maternity cover) An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Housekeeping Manager to support our operation at Condover Hall Activity Centre. You will be working for JCA, one of the leading UK companies for school and family activity holidays. Condover Hall is a Grade I listed building with extensive accommodation and communal areas that require consistent care and attention. As a Housekeeping Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained across the centre, while managing a dedicated team and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. What you’ll be doing Managing a team of housekeeping staff, offering guidance and practical assistance when needed (including basic level training). Overseeing the daily cleaning schedule for all accommodation, communal areas, and facilities. Coordinating room changeovers efficiently in line with guest arrivals and departures. Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene are maintained at all times. Overseeing the laundering and distribution of bed linen, towels, and staff uniforms. Ensuring expenditure is within the department budget by monitoring housekeeping supplies, managing stock levels, and placing orders as necessary. Developing and maintaining housekeeping procedures in line with operational needs and health & safety compliance. Conducting regular inspections of rooms and facilities to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are upheld. Reporting to the Assistant Centre Manager and updating them regarding team performance, inventory needs, and any operational challenges. Co-ordinating with our offsite Laundry Services contractors, the required linen quantities per week. Liaising closely with the Maintenance Team regarding essential maintenance and refurbishment of the guest accommodation. What we are looking for Proven experience in housekeeping management, ideally in a residential, hospitality, or school/activity centre setting. Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in training and supervising staff. An awareness of health and safety and hygiene standards in a residential or hospitality environment. Experience of managing a budget in the workplace. Comfortable working on a computer system using MS Office for scheduling, reporting, and inventory control. An ability to confidently manage your own time and the time and schedules of your team. Line management experience. Comfortable with reporting to and liaising with senior management. Responsible and conscientious outlook in regards to cleanliness and health and safety.
