We are recruiting for a dedicated specialist teacher to join a well-established special needs provision in the Barnsley area. Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality, differentiated teaching to pupils with a range of SEND, including those with complex needs.Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet individual EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan) targets.Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and senior leaders.Use ongoing assessment to track progress and adapt learning accordingly.Promote positive behaviour using consistent, nurturing and trauma-informed strategies.Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment that supports SEMH, communication and sensory needs.RequirementsQualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.Proven experience teaching in a SEND school, specialist provision, PRU, or similar environment.Strong understanding of SEN frameworks, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and complex learning needs.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.A commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and inclusive practice.What We OfferA supportive, collaborative environment within a respected SEND setting.Competitive pay, based on experience and qualification.Ongoing CPD and professional development in special needs education.The opportunity to make a genuinely meaningful impact in a highly regarded provision.
