We are a small, busy team comprising qualified Social Workers, a Justice Assistant, and Business Support. Our role is to provide a quality social work service to statutory prisoners, including a Duty social work service accessible to all prisoners.

A key part of our role is to assess and manage potential risks posed by individuals at different stages of their sentences, through report writing for the Parole Board and attending Parole Oral Hearings.

We collaborate with the Scottish Prison Service and community social work agencies to support and manage statutory offenders.

The team is based within the prison setting with access to hybrid working arrangements.

They should also have a good understanding of the legislative framework and the evolving landscape of justice social work, with the ability to work collaboratively with statutory and third-sector organisations both inside and outside the prison environment.

Strong communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills are essential.

A relevant social work degree and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) are required.
