About you
You will be qualified to GCSE level standard and be capable of passing appropriate Council funded training in order to obtain an SIA Public Space CCTV Surveillance license.
You will be able to work well under pressure, with the ability to prioritise work and apply common sense when dealing with problems.
You will need to be a reliable team player with the self-motivation to carry out duties with the minimum of supervision.
You will have a calm and confident approach coupled with good observational skills.
About the role
Reporting into the Control Centre Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the smooth operation of the Council’s 24/7 Control Centre.
You will multi-task across a range of duties undertaken by the team. These will include proactive CCTV monitoring, responding to Homecall client requests for assistance via remote alarms and dealing with out of hours calls to the Council.
You will help ensure positive working relationships with both the Police and the business community is maintained.
This is a two year fixed contract ending on April 13th 2028. (Secondment cover) You will be working permanent night shifts working from 20.30 until 07.00 hours on a 4 days on 4 days off basis. The rota covers 365 days per year and shifts are currently 10.5 hours in duration.
About the team
The team of 16 x FTEs provide a 24/7 service across a number of areas:-
1. Public Space CCTV Surveillance – helping keep city centre streets as safe as possible
2. Homecall - providing instant support to over 1000 vulnerable clients in their own homes at the press of a button on a pendant
3. Alarm Response – dealing with fire alarms, intruder alarms and lift alarms across the Council’s public buildings
4. Out of Hours Calls – fielding any calls to the Council during the night, at weekends and over Bank Holidays
