Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Bruton for a Sous Chef at Artfarm. The Sous Chef will assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, supervise and train kitchen staff, ensure high-quality preparation and presentation of all dishes, and assist in the development of menus using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. The role also involves ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, managing kitchen inventory and costs, and stepping in for the Head Chef when needed. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are integral to this role.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in food preparation, presentation, and culinary techniques
* Experience in kitchen management, including staff supervision and scheduling
* Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and inventory control
* Ability to develop and execute creative menus using seasonal and local ingredients
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities
* Culinary certifications or related qualifications are preferred
* Passion for food, sustainability, and delivering exceptional dining experiences
