IT Helpdesk Analyst (DC Thomson, 12-Month FTC) – Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom. 12-month Fixed-Term Contract with the opportunity for review and potential permanent role, subject to business needs and performance.
Role summary
* Job Title: IT Helpdesk Analyst
* Contract Duration: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (potential for extension or permanent placement, subject to business needs and performance)
* Location: Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom
Responsibilities
* Ensure customers receive a high level of engagement: create tickets, gather information, set SLAs, update notes, and validate closures
* Support troubleshooting of IT-related problems from in-house software to hardware (laptops, PCs, printers, etc.)
* Troubleshoot basic network issues
* Ensure tickets contain full information before assignment; inform users when tickets are escalated
* Engage with users to make them feel their issue is important and provide quick overviews or advice
* Publish support documentation and provide customer training if required
* Basic Active Directory/Office 365 knowledge: create user accounts, reset passwords, create groups, etc.
* Arrange external technical support when problems cannot be resolved in-house
Knowledge, qualifications, skills and experience
* Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
* A recognised Information Systems or technical qualification is desirable but not essential
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Self-motivated with ability to work independently
* Ability to work with users to translate requirements into functional and technical solutions
