Bolton Hospice'sconsultant-led team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff, provideexpert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limitingillnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home. We not only take careof patients' physical needs, we consider their emotional, spiritual and socialneeds too. And we support families and close friends, both during illness andin bereavement.

We are currently seeking to recruit anenthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nurse to work within the InpatientUnit at Bolton Hospice. This will be an exciting and rewarding opportunity foranyone wishing to further develop their nursing skills and knowledge withinspecialist palliative care.

(Unsocial hours enhancements paid in addition to basic salary)

The role covers a 24 hour, 7 day service andwill therefore include weekends and rotation to night duty.

Long day shifts and night shiftswould be expected.


Main duties of the job

As a Staff Nurse working as part of the wider multi-disciplinaryteam, you will support patients with complex clinical needs and provide hands-on,person-centred care. Our staff strive to provide the highest quality of servicefor our patients and their families and carers, through a collaborative teamapproach. As Staff Nurse, you will beresponsible for advising and supporting staff, therefore you will need to ableto demonstrate a high level of competence in the specialty.

To apply, you must be a Registered General Nurse, who isenthusiastic and flexible with a passion for specialist palliative and end oflife care. A recognised post-registration palliative care qualification isdesirable, although you will be fully supported in the role if you have limitedor no experience with the specialty. You will have access to a range oftraining and development opportunities and be welcomed as a valued member of anexperienced and supportive team.

Qualifications

* Registered General Nurse
* Diploma or relevant experience
* ENB998 or Mentorship

* Awareness and understanding of palliative care

* Ability to plan personal and professional development of self and others
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Punctual, reliable and flexible
* Ability to manage time effectively
* Clinical credibility within the sphere of palliative care


Experience

* Proven experience of managing change
* Application of evidence to practice
* Evidence of multi-professional working
* Understanding and evidence of application of the NMC and other professional codes of conduct
* Experience in the specialty

£29,970 to £32,324 a yearDependent on experience, pro rata for part time.
