Job Title: Engineering Director
Reports to: Managing Director
Department: Engineering
Location: Hybrid working with preference for Central England as home base.
Overview: Our client is seeking an Engineering Director to play a pivotal role in driving their business growth as outlined in their five-year financial plan. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building an Engineering Team with the necessary skills to realize our client's growth plans, particularly in areas such as IEC61850 Projects and the Design and Build of Large Transmission Projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Recruit and lead a new Engineering Team to manage the technical aspects of upcoming projects in growth areas.
* Expand our client's technical capabilities and introduce new products/services in growth areas.
* Participate in conferences and exhibitions to promote our client's brand and services.
* Engage with Transmission Utilities, Utilities, and Academia to understand emerging technologies and formulate growth strategies.
* Support the Business Development Manager in technical selling and promoting engineering service offerings to various end-users.
* Oversee the development and execution of multi-year product development plans.
* Assist in joint growth programs developed by the India and UK teams, leveraging the synergy of low-cost engineering and manufacturing.
* Foster new customer relationships and promote joint interests between our client and other stakeholders.
Educational Qualifications:
* BSc in Electronics or Electrical Engineering + Electronics
* 15 to 20 years of experience in the Control, Protection, and Automation Industry
* 5 years of experience in leading a team of 10-15 persons
Requirements:
* Ability and willingness to travel overseas once every 2-3 months for a week.
* Willingness to travel 2-3 days a week to visit Customer and/or Head Office
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Demonstrated experience in project management and business development.
* A background of working with EHV products
