Overview
Marketing and Communications Manager – Permanent post, full time (37 hours per week) Full Year (Term plus 3 weeks considered).
We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Manager to join our busy Central Services Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations within the Trust.
Furness Education Trust is a multi-academy trust based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria serving the Furness Community, located near the centre of the historic shipbuilding town and close to the southern boundary of the Lake District National Park. Currently comprised of seven academies including Furness Academy, Walney School and five primary, the Trust aims to develop best practice in each school across the whole Trust, by collaborating and working together to give the best of everything to every child.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Develop and deliver a Trust-wide marketing and communications aligned with organisational goals.
* Promote the Trust and its schools through engaging marketing campaigns across digital, print and outdoor media.
* Support student recruitment and staff recruitment efforts with targeted materials and campaigns.
* Oversee and produce internal and external communications including newsletters, press releases, announcements and annual reports.
* Develop and manage a communications calendar in line with school events and strategic priorities.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in marketing and communications, ideally in the education, public or charity sectors.
* Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
* Strong project management and organisational skills.
* Ability to think strategically and work operationally across multiple projects and deadlines.
* Experience managing websites, social media platforms, and design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
* Confidence in dealing with senior stakeholders and the media.
