Finance Assistant | Full Time | Care Finance Assessment Team | Preston, Lancashire
Salary £25,185 to £25,989 per annum | Permanent, Full Time | 37 hours per week
Location: County Hall, Preston (currently may work from home).
Responsibilities
* Arrange financial reassessment telephone appointments and visits for Financial Assessment Officers
* Handle phone calls and emails; collate information required for financial reassessments
* Complete mail merge using Microsoft Word
* Utilise Microsoft Excel; demonstrate effective communication with interpersonal skills, including empathy and sensitivity
* Plan and organise straightforward tasks; exchange information with the public and staff
* Provide general information, advice and guidance on established internal procedures
* Monitor/record financial resources as required
* Support and guide other staff; complete tasks to required standards and deadlines
* Ensure telephone calls are conducted respectfully, accommodating diverse needs
* Liaise with colleagues across Directorates to advise of customer requests and concerns; signpost to relevant contacts including partner agencies
* Demonstrate strong teamwork and the ability to work independently to meet targets
Qualifications
* Previous relevant experience or ability to demonstrate competence for the role
* Administrative experience in an office setting
* Experience dealing with vulnerable people or social care customers is advantageous but not mandatory
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient information technology skills; ability to follow instructions and processes and contribute ideas to improve service delivery
* May be required to attend training, team briefings and meetings at other venues across the county
