About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across a variety of secondary schools in Hastings.
This role is ideal for confident and proactive individuals who can support teaching and learning at a higher level, including leading small group sessions, delivering pre-planned lessons, and providing targeted support to students.
You will play an important role in helping students aged 11–16 engage with their learning while supporting teachers in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of a teacher when required
* Lead small group interventions and targeted support sessions
* Provide 1:1 support to students who require additional help
* Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
* Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) where appropriate
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Requirements
* HLTA qualification or equivalent experience supporting learning in schools
* Previous experience working in a secondary school setting
* Confidence delivering lessons and managing groups of students
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
