Are you a supportive and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible opportunities in Pontefract? We’re recruiting dedicated individuals to work in a range of school settings, providing essential support to pupils with special educational needs.
Role Overview:
This role involves working closely with children and young people who may have additional needs such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. You may be providing one-to-one support, working with small groups, or assisting the class teacher in delivering inclusive learning.
Key Duties:
* Supporting pupils with SEN to access the curriculum
* Helping to implement EHCPs and tailored learning plans
* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
* Assisting with classroom activities and organisation
* Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (formal or informal)
* Patient, calm, and resilient approach to behaviour and communication
* Confident working independently and as part of a team
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, or similar) are a bonus but not essential
* Willingness to work flexibly across different age groups and settings
