SALARY SCALE: Band 7 (£50,861 to £52,769 per annum)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced audiologist to join our friendly and dedicated paediatric audiology team in Edinburgh. This is a full-time, permanent Band 7 position based in a purpose-built Children’s Hospital in the beautiful and historic city of Edinburgh.

About the Role

You will work alongside a team of paediatric audiologists and assistant staff, delivering high-quality care to children aged 0–18 years. The role includes:

* Paediatric assessments from 8 months of age.
* Hearing aid habilitation for all age groups.
* Face-to-face clinics at The Royal Hospital for Children and Young People and Lauriston Building.

Clinical Responsibilities

You will be involved in a wide range of diagnostic and habilitative services, including:

* Visual Reinforcement Audiometry
* Performance and Pure Tone Audiometry
* TEAOE testing
* Otoscopy and Tympanometry
* Hearing aid fitting for all ages
* Diagnostic ABR (dependent on experience)

Service Development

We are committed to continuous improvement and innovation. You will contribute to:

* Writing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
* Audit and quality improvement initiatives
* Supporting new service developments

An interest in training and mentoring is desirable, along with a strong vision for service quality and improvement.

Working Hours

* Clinics run Monday to Friday, 08:00–18:00
* Full-time hours: 37 hours/week
* NHS Scotland is transitioning to a 36-hour working week by 2026, with no impact on salary
* Job share over 5 days will be considered

Person Specification

Essential:

* ACHS registration as an Audiologist (or HCPC registration if a Clinical Scientist)
* Experience in paediatric audiology including paediatric assessments and hearing aid fitting.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Commitment to high standards of patient care.

Desirable:

* Interest in service development and training.
* Familiarity with NHS systems and protocols.
