🛠️ The Role
As an Electrical Build Technician, you’ll be responsible for the build and assembly of complex electrical systems and sub-assemblies, working to high quality, ISO, and customer standards. You’ll play a key role in supporting production efficiency, mentoring junior technicians, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
* Build electrical systems, sub-assemblies, and piece parts to required quality standards
* Ensure BOMs and customer specifications are met
* Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve build issues efficiently
* Report technical issues through the FRACAS process
* Provide build sequence guidance and technical support to the team
* Mentor and support junior technicians
* Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and H&S (5S)
* Contribute to continuous improvement across production
* Work to a rotating shift pattern as directed by the Team Leader
✅ Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience building electrical systems, ideally for complex or special-purpose machinery
* Strong background in electrical wiring and panel building
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
* Hands-on experience with:
* Control panels
* MCBs, contactors, and relays
* Inverter drives and PLCs
* Cable crimping, soldering, and termination
* Excellent attention to detail and fault-finding ability
* Strong commitment to high-quality build standards
🎓 Desirable Qualifications
* Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship
* 16th or 17th Edition Electrical qualification
* HNC / HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
* City & Guilds Electrical / Electronic qualifications
* Other relevant electrical certifications
⏰ Shift Pattern
* Early: 06:00 – 14:00 (Mon–Thurs)
* Afternoon: 14:00 – 22:00 (Mon–Thurs)
* Friday: 06:00 – 11:00 or 11:00 – 16:00
* (4 x 8-hour shifts + 1 x 5-hour shift per week)
