Purpose of PositionAs International Development Manager your primary responsibility is to develop the company's international customer base, deliver revenue targets, drive profitability and accelerate growth. In this role you will be part of a specialist team of sales professionals who thrive in the fast-paced and dynamic environment of global trade.Key Task & Responsibilities* Managing both an existing sales pipeline and the development of new business opportunities sufficient in size to fund new international business targets as laid down in the company’s strategic plan * Monitoring performance of new customers to ensure they trade to an agreed profile. Agree and deliver action plans if variances occur * Successfully handover all new accounts to relevant member of the International Strategic Account team or CRM team portfolio within 6 months of trade. Joint appointments should be carried out with each handover and ensure the account is achieving over revenue levels as outlined by the business. * Identifying trends and customer needs, building a sales pipeline for short/medium/long term in accordance with targets for both core international services and new bespoke solution opportunities * Championing the partnering process wherever possible with any new prospect, providing the international expertise in leading the implementation process of new international customers and aligning the appropriate teams in support of this * Achieving all international portfolio product targets as laid down by the company * Embracing all new international products as and when launched by the company by identifying and winning suitable new business opportunities where necessary to support the development and establishment of these products * Obtaining all the correct documentation required to process a credit facility to a minimum of ISO standard * Striving for exceeding the target criteria each year * Maintaining and updating Salesforce records daily and in compliance with company procedures. * Achieving each International product/service target as set by the Head of International Development * Leading and overseeing the international tender process for new International business opportunities * Ensuring each new international account complies with the correct requirements of our international operation and trade regulations * Maintaining and sharing professional international trade and logistics knowledge and expertise through education, networking, events, and presentations Key Measures of Performance* New international business revenue/contribution versus targets * New business international service product mix versus target * Opportunity and prospect pipeline to be of sufficient size * Compliance of prospect information given to the International Development Team Manager * Quality, suitability, development potential and size of new international business won * Achievement of revenue target Qualifications: The successful candidate will need to have: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and confidently perform presentations Proven sales ability to achieve and exceed personal sales plans and targetsWillingness to learn and enhance knowledge of products, services and international tradeExcellent time management skills to maximise the ability to reach goalsEffective upsell and cross selling skillsStrong influencing and negotiating skillsEffective collaboration and relationship building skillsResilience, self-motivation and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing environmentGood record keeping and adherence to policies and proceduresProblem solving and effective decision-makingDemonstrates the core values of DPD DNA – Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring and Accountability Additional Information: About our benefits:We recognise that our people are at the heart of our business, without them we wouldn’t be able to deliver our award-winning service to all our customers.Holiday tradingEnhanced maternity and paternity packageFree life assurance of 4 x salary on joining the pension schemeFree onsite parking for all employeesHealth Kiosks visiting every location Discounted shopping from 100’s of retailers including up to 5% off your weekly supermarket shopMilestone Days off to celebrate with your family and friendsFree eye tests and support with the cost of glassesJoining DPD can lead to not just a stable job but also a career.
