Overview
Base Location: Dunbar / East Lothian (site-based) with occasional travel
Salary: £42,600 - £64,000 + car / car allowance (if applicable) + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
As a Development & Construction Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the safe delivery of major renewable energy projects. Working as part of the Offshore Health & Safety team, you’ll provide expert guidance, influence positive safety behaviours, and help ensure that people, assets, and the environment are protected at every stage of project delivery.
Your first assignment will support onshore civils construction activities for the Berwick Bank Offshore Wind Farm. This is a site-based role requiring daily attendance in Dunbar (with occasional offshore travel). To be considered, you’ll need to live (or be willing to relocate) to within around 1 hour’s drive of Dunbar.
Responsibilities
* Provide visible safety leadership on-site, supporting project teams to deliver construction activities safely while protecting people, assets and the environment
* Work collaboratively with teams to develop and improve risk assessments, control measures and incident investigations, driving continuous improvement in safety performance
* Carry out health and safety audits and due diligence assessments of contractors and partner organisations to ensure high standards are consistently met
* Support and influence teams to embed a strong, positive safety culture, including delivering behavioural safety initiatives in a clear and consistent way
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, helping to balance safety, operational delivery and project timelines in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
* A recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (such as NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent) or relevant experience in a safety-focused role
* Membership of IOSH (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this
* Proven Health & Safety experience on civils construction sites (e.g., earthworks, concrete, utilities, roads, temporary works) and confidence working with principal contractors and multiple subcontractors
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
* The ability to work in a dynamic, site-based environment in Dunbar and travel offshore occasionally, delivering effectively against challenging deadlines
