The Opportunity
Position: Practice Director
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Waterford city, Co. Waterford
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience, plus participation in a discretionary bonus scheme for directors
Relocation: Up to €5,000 relocation allowance available to support your move
Hours: 40 hours/week, 5 days
Join our dedicated team at City Vets, Waterford, a well-established veterinary practice providing high-quality care to pets and their owners. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Practice Director to oversee the day-to-day operations, ensure the smooth running of our clinic, and support our staff in delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of the veterinary practice, ensuring efficient workflow and providing exceptional client care.
* Manage financial performance, including budgeting, invoicing, and profitability.
* Implement and maintain health and safety protocols to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
* Handle HR tasks including recruitment, training, and staff development.
* Foster a positive, collaborative work environment to promote high team morale.
* Manage inventory, ordering, and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
* Monitor client satisfaction and address concerns promptly.
* Work with the senior management team to develop and implement strategies for practice growth.
What We're Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate with previous experience in a veterinary practice management role, or equivalent leadership experience in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have:
* Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills
* Financial acumen, including budgeting and managing a P&L
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and improving practice efficiency
* Excellent communication skills to engage with both the team and clients
