Aspire People is working in partnership with a forward-thinking and inclusive school in Birmingham to recruit a resilient, nurturing, and enthusiastic SEMH Support Assistant. This is a long-term opportunity to work with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support in order to thrive in their education.
🧠 The Role:
Supporting children and young people with SEMH needs in both 1:1 and small group settings.
Assisting with behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies.
Creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
Promoting engagement, attendance, and positive attitudes to learning.
✅ What You'll Need:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or trauma-informed care (school, residential, youth work, or similar).
A calm, confident, and non-judgemental approach.
Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
The ability to build strong relationships and be a positive role model.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain through us).
