Summary
The ideal candidate will assist the sheeter operator in running a sheeter machine to cut rolls into sheets of specified board size and quality. The position involves working a continental shift from 6 PM to 6 AM.
Responsibilities
Summary of essential job functions and responsibilities:
* Understand and follow computer instructions to print reports after each job.
* Maintain accurate production records, including completing all ISO 9001-2000 required forms; learn to use measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
* Perform preventive maintenance by greasing and oiling machinery as needed.
* Use specification sheets to determine roll sizes and cut-off sizes.
* Adjust the roll holder for the new roll size.
* Set the PIV speed of the sheeter machine to produce the required sheet size.
* Inspect products continuously to detect quality deficiencies.
* Use an electric pallet jack to move cut sheets to the staging area.
* Maintain cleanliness of machinery and the surrounding work area.
* Follow all applicable AVP procedures and suggest system improvements when identified.
* Keep accurate records and use measuring devices correctly, including tape measures and gauges.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED; 1-2 years of machine operator experience or training, preferably in the folding carton industry.
* Ability to solve practical problems and handle variables with limited standardization.
* Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
