Job Summary
Clerical Officer / Receptionist – Colwyn Bay Community Hospital (Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board). The post provides efficient and comprehensive administrative and reception support to the Outpatients Department, serving as the first point of contact for telephone communication and assisting patients and staff alike. The closing date is 10 June 2026.
Responsibilities
* Provide general assistance to service providers and users, projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors, both in person and via telephone.
* Receive, assist, and direct patients to the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective manner.
* Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the smooth running of the Outpatients Department, including clerical support to clinical staff and other team members.
* Facilitate effective communication between patients, staff, secondary care and associated health and wellbeing agencies.
Qualifications
* Maths/English GCSE or equivalent experience.
* NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent experience.
* Experience in a clerical, office, reception or ward environment.
* Working with the public in a busy environment.
* Telephonic and face‑to‑face communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
* NVQ in Customer Service.
* EDCL qualification.
* Experience of general administrative functions.
* Familiarity with WPAS, CASENOTE TRACKING or WCP RADIS systems.
* Understanding of the importance of maintaining medical records.
* Data protection and confidentiality knowledge.
Skills
* Computer literate (IT).
* Effective communication.
* Fluency in Welsh.
Personal Qualities
* Ability to work without direct supervision.
* Team player.
