About the role
Pay Details: Grade 9 SPC 31 - 35 £41,771 - £46,142 Pro Rata £21.65 - £32.92 Per Hour
To manage the Library Service and Council Contact Point at Barry, Penarth or Cowbridge as directed, and assist in the development of the service as a whole.
About you
What you need:
1. At least 3 years working as a qualified librarian
2. Experience of managing and supporting staff
3. Experience of managing environments under economic uncertainty and change.
4. Sound knowledge of library systems and processes
5. Active interest in current professional issues
6. A confident leader, able to lead and motivate staff
7. Excellent decision making skills based on sound judgement
8. Good problem solving and negotiating skills
9. Able to diffuse and manage difficult situations
10. Enthusiasm for working with others and promoting services
11. Excellent presentation and training skills
12. Digitally confident in all areas of Microsoft 365 and general applications, software and tools.
13. Chartered Librarian or a degree level qualification in Library & Information Management
14. An enthusiastic advocate for libraries
15. Proactive approach to developing and promoting services
16. Confident and resourceful
17. A proactive team member
18. Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate
19. Willingness to be based at any library and to change locations in agreement with Libraries and Cultural Services Manager
